Through the rod window..

More on the theme.. Recently departed from the Blokes is this lovely model A, and my faithful '32
sedan as seen through the rod window.

Beaulieu weekend June '10

Date line June 2010 and the Blokes help out at the Victory Wheelers club annual event at Beaulieu.

In no particular order..... Blokes photo shoot outside Mark's posh new garage, photographer-Chris worrying the locals, Blokes n Birds, Brian's Ices, would you trust these people? a little Burlesque action, a little beard action, rumble seat action.

Blokes trip to the UK Nostalgia Nationals

June  2010 and the Blokes (well, some of them) kick off an early morning run up the 100 miles to the drags. Mark's 32 roadster, Simon's 32 sedan, Dan's 39 'Turtle' and Calvin's truck missing its usual bike in the back. A fantastic day out in the sunshine, some great track times all round, a mountain of Yorkshire puddings and some lovely cars to look at - heaven!

Through the rod window

To continue the theme, here's the Turtle bustling
along the Queen's Highway after a great day out at the drags....

Rolling Blokes top secret soapbox test ends in tears..

Top secret testing of the Blokes' soapbox was carried out over a few beers at Beaulieu last week. Tests ended in disaster as Pete (Blokes prospect) took a sharp turn and rolled the kart, needing Tequila
to be administered by Nurse Zoe. Doesn't he know hot rods don't go round corners!!

I liked the Watson-esque style paint job on this custom

Nice clean simple Riviera..........

Another drag strip refugee, with hot blown flathead was this 3-windowJeff Norwells recently finished, nail hard truck...........

Wanna Race? Loved the detail on this street racer A coupe............

I just loved this hopped up '32 3 window

Reggie's own '32 roadster (built by Brian Darwas) and his barn find '36.......

Arrived! The pre-show BBQ at Reggie's had just the best food.........and of course cold beer!

Mark Morton's '36 geting down the road

The "bones" car hustling past the "jive five" car...............both these cars are well engineered, quick and so comfortable you almost forget your in a hot rod.........

Just a couple of cool old hot rods, in the back ground is Howard's two storey '32

Race?

Down the road we had superb weather, 75deg warmth clear blue sky's and good times, we had a "hot rod" celebrity join up with us in the shape of Mark Morton in his cool '36 with new interior.......wouldnt stop complaining about his broken CD player!!!! He was accompianed by an old friend who well into his 70's still races at Bonneville and had a joke for every minute of the day!!

For the last couple of years now my good friend John Swander (Kansas City) has been inviting me to fly into Kansas, and make the trip down to Texas sharing the driving between him, his brother Jay, myslef in a couple of his '32 five windows he owns........well this year it all fell into place and I was able to make the trip...........
