Not often you see a clear road in the Uk............

On the road bright and early, well may be not bright

S.I.N.S - 3

Having heard a great deal about the Scrapers bi-annual car show, four of us blokes decided to take the plunge and go this year.

Brian in his 56 Fairlane (his '36 not being finished on time)
Calvin in his 37 truck with early custom harley in the back
Simon (passenger)
Dan (me, passenger)

We booked all our stuff early, in fact so early that Brian was already packing by Febuary!!! Thanks to Ratty for the excellent easy to use ferry deal! The trip itself was superb, fantastic weather for the drive out to Dover, where we met with a good selection of other Uk Hot rodders, and an assortment of vehicles, ferry was no probs, flat calm, ton of sun, got the other side and attempted a huge cruise of all the vehilces to the event, and amazingly it worked very well until we got off the motorway then all hell broke loose with vehilces to be seen in all directions, eventually after a couple of hours most people had arrived at the show, started to get there vehicles ready for display or just sitting in the sun having a beer, you know how it is!

The Scrapers put on a fantastic, nostalgia style hall, well organised displays of vehicles, excelletn entertainment on the Saturday night for those that can remember it (!)

What else can be said, if you like your hot rod shows the old fashioned way then you missed out big time.........it reminded us of the suede palace at the GNRS in the states..............cool indeed

Pics to follow, not in any particular order...............enjoy and thanks for looking

Wheels Day.........

A good turn out from the blokes at Wheels Day '09, despite the damp start Brian and I left Fareham to Loomies Cafe in the gloom at about, well lets just say it was early, we arrived (first!) and ordered our big boys breakie whilst the others arrived, it was still raining but we werent fussed, a steady stream of vehilces showed, so in total we had about 10 cars leaving together.

We got to the site without incident (!) and parked up and got out into the rain of a typical good friday morning, we mooched about for a while, looked round the trade stands, spoke to a load of friends not seen for a couple of months, we then split and some stayed whilst others headed for Miles place (NAMCO) for a spend up and good pizza from across the road (uuuuuuummmmmmmm pizza!)

Then the last few of us headed to Billy's garage for a beer and a chat..........all in all a grand day out!

Hi light for me was seeing Paul & Steve's freshly choped 5-window where it belongs, out on the road, even though they looked a little damp, the car drew quite a crowd............and so it should - well done the pair of them!

Well thats it for now, thanks to Brian for the lift (as I am still carless fanadngo - my car is still in the US) and to all at the Surrey Street Rodders for a well organised day out (just maybe some sun next year would be good eh?)
