Wheels Day, UK 2008

by Brian Newman
Braving the rain and hail stones we set off, at first light it seemed, for Loomies cafe in the Meon valley. As the cafe had opened early just for us, (thanks Al), it would have been rude not to indulge in a Full English. After a great breakfast and the weather improving, about a dozen varied cars continued on to Rushmoor Arena. Almost staying together.

On arrival we were parked about three rows back from the stage as usual. A bright but cold windy day saw us hiding in the trader's tents and looking at all the different types of vehicles.

As we were about to leave I was surprised to be told that my 36 coupe had won the Executioners pick, (thanks Terry) so we sat in the then pooring rain waiting for the awards.

Then back down the A31/A32 after an enjoyable day amongst like-minded folk.

Thanks to the Surrey Street Rodders for the much awaited start to the season.
